Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice German WWII Era Presentation "Table Medal", a large award usually displayed on a shelf or table, as the name implies. The medal itself measures about 80mm in diameter, and is 5mm thick, made of die struck zinc alloy.
The front of the metal shows two bare-chested men, one holding a hammer and one holding a caduceus, on either side of a robed woman, who is holding laurel leaves. These may be mythological figures. The reverse is marked with the following statement:
FÜR LANGJÄHRI:
GE·MITARBEIT
IM·DIENSTE·DER
PFÄLZISCHEN
WIRTSCHAFT
This roughly translates to " For long years of cooperation in service of the Palatinate Economy." The Palatinate is a region of Southwestern Germany, known for Vineyards and agriculture, as well as the large Palatine Forest. These medals were given to those who had given substantial help to the region.
The medal has a lovely oxidized patina and is more than ready to display!
