Original Item: Only One Available. This is a high quality rare example of a WWII German NSDAP National Socialist Rigid Flag Car / Automobile / Vehicle Wimpel (Pennant) on its original flag-pole and finial, which would have been flown on a small staff attached to the fender of the automobile or other vehicle. It is double sided and is of multi-piece cotton construction with heavy tight stitching, metal snap hooks, and red/white edge trim. Design is the standard red field with a stitched on white circle bearing the NSDAP Swas (Hook Cross), which is machine embroidered into the white circle. The flagpole is aluminum with a nickel or chrome plated alloy finial.
The pennant shows use and some staining. The stitchwork on the pennant is very impressive and makes for a stunning display. The pennant measures approximately 7 ¾ inches in hoist and 13 inches in fly. The pole measures 13 inches long with a 2 inch long finial.
Highly impressive and loaded with eye appeal, this is sure to make a great addition to any collection!
The National Socialist German Workers' Party (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, abbreviated NSDAP), commonly known in English as the NSDAP Party, was a political party in Germany between 1919 and 1945. It was known as the German Workers' Party (DAP) before the name was changed in 1920.
The party's last leader, Adolf AH, was appointed Chancellor of Germany by president Paul von Hindenburg in 1933. AH rapidly established a totalitarian regime known as the Third Reich.
