Original German WWII NSDAP National Socialist Pennant Flag & Small NSKK Banner Set

Regular price $550.00

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice set a German WWII NSDAP Pennant and small NSKK Banner. During the WWII era the NSDAP was very committed to the use of flags and other symbols to solidify their influence in the country.

The German NSDAP National Socialist Wimpel (Pennant) is of multi-piece construction and measures about 18" in hoist and 26" in fly, with rings at the ends for suspension. It definitely shows age toning and staining, so this was definitely displayed for a long period of time. There is an embroidered 50. V. on the upper corner, but we do not understand the significance of this marking. It is very well done, and we suspect it is some type of unit marking.

The small NSKK banner measures about 16" x 9 1/2", and looks to have been part of a larger flag or banner at some point. It may have been made from an older imperial or Weimar period flag, which was then cut up and repurposed to make small NSKK flags. It has the NSKK eagle paint stamped into the middle.

A very nice WWII German Pennant and flag set with some good research potential!

The National Socialist German Workers' Party (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, abbreviated NSDAP), commonly known in English as the NSDAP Party, was a political party in Germany between 1919 and 1945. It was known as the German Workers' Party (DAP) before the name was changed in 1920.

The party's last leader, Adolf AH, was appointed Chancellor of Germany by president Paul von Hindenburg in 1933. AH rapidly established a totalitarian regime known as the Third Reich.

The National Socialist Motor Corps (NSKK) was a paramilitary organization of the NSDAP that officially existed from May 1931 to 1945. The group was a successor organisation to the older National Socialist Automobile Corps (NSAK), which had existed since April 1930.

The NSKK served as a training organization, mainly instructing members in the operation and maintenance of high-performance motorcycles and automobiles. The NSKK was further used to transport NSDAP and SA officials/members. The NSKK also served as a roadside assistance group in the mid-1930s, comparable to the modern-day American Automobile Association or the British Automobile Association. The outbreak of World War II in Europe caused the NSKK ranks to be recruited to serve in the transport corps of various German military branches. There was also a French section of the NSKK, which was organised after the German occupation of France began in 1940. The NSKK was the smallest of the NSDAP Party organizations.
