  • Original Item: Only One Available. Recently purchased at a militaria show, is this genuine USGI bring back German WWII NSDAP Podium banner, which definitely looks to have seen a good amount of use. The National Socialist German Workers' Party (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, abbreviated NSDAP), commonly known in English as the NSDAP Party, was a political party in Germany between 1919 and 1945. It was known as the German Workers' Party (DAP) before the name was changed in 1920.

The party's last leader, Adolf AH, was appointed Chancellor of Germany by president Paul von Hindenburg in 1933. AH rapidly established a totalitarian regime known as the Third Reich.

The banner is single sided and of multi-piece construction, with a black swas (hook cross) printed onto a white circle (one piece) stitched onto the red cotton background, which is made from several pieces. Around this is a stitched on light canvas white border on the bottom and sides, but not the top, which would be attached to the podium. There is no white fringe at the bottom like we often see, though there is a lighter red piece of fabric installed, so this banner looks to have had an interesting history. It measures 53" x 45", and has three leather reinforced steel grommets at the top to hang it with.

The banner is offered in very good service used condition, looking to have seen moderate use during the NSDAP period. There are some small holes and tears, as well as light staining. The colors are however still very vibrant, and the stitching is all secure, as far as we can tell. There are a lot of stains on the lower right corner, which we assume are from service or from being transported after it was captured by a USGI.

A very nice example with some great wear from service, ready to add to your collection!
