Item Description
Original Item: Only One Available. Recently purchased at a militaria show is this genuine USGI bring back German WWII NSDAP Podium banner. Unlike most that we see, this one shows real period service wear, and doesn't look to have been one that was found in a drawer after the war. The National Socialist German Workers' Party (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, abbreviated NSDAP), commonly known in English as the NSDAP Party, was a political party in Germany between 1919 and 1945. It was known as the German Workers' Party (DAP) before the name was changed in 1920.
The party's last leader, Adolf AH, was appointed Chancellor of Germany by president Paul von Hindenburg in 1933. AH rapidly established a totalitarian regime known as the Third Reich.
The banner is single sided and of multi-piece construction, with a printed black swas (hook cross) in white canvas circle (one piece) stitched onto the red cotton background. There is also a bullion fringe sewn onto the bottom, and it measures 34" in length (not counting the fringe) and is 31" in width. There are hanging ties at the corners, however it has been attached to a 34" long wooden hanging pole with red thread, which may have reduced the length a bit.
The banner is offered in wonderful service worn condition, with age toning and staining, as well as scattered small holes across the entire banner. Really a great look that is impossible to duplicated!
A very nice "salty" example, ready to add to your collection!
