  • Original Item: Only One Available. This is an original German WWII NSDAP First Pattern flag pole finial, or Fahnenstange Endstück, constructed from nickel plated brass and retaining its threaded steel mounting rod. It is the early multi piece pattern with a spread wing eagle above an oak leaf wreath containing a mobile swas, and remains in very good overall condition with only light age related wear and a slight bend.

The finial measures approximately 8 7/8" tall including the 2 1/8" threaded steel rod and approximately 8 1/8" across the wing tips. The eagle faces to its right and is positioned above the oak leaf wreath, with the mobile swas centered within the wreath. The black painted finish within the swas remains very well retained on both sides.

The threaded steel rod remains attached, though the separate socket used to secure the finial to the flag pole is missing. At the top of the rod is a chrome plated nonmagnetic fitting threaded into place.

The nickel plated brass body retains the great majority of its original finish. There is scattered oxidation to the plating and only a few very small areas where the brass base metal is exposed. The finial has a slight bend but no major cracks, breaks, or impact damage.

With its early multi piece construction, nickel plated brass body, spread wing eagle, oak leaf wreath, well preserved black swas detailing, and original threaded mounting rod, this is a strong example of a German WWII NSDAP flag pole finial. The missing pole socket, slight bend, light plating oxidation, and minor finish wear are all fully disclosed. It would fit especially well in an NSDAP flag display, German political standard, flag pole hardware, or advanced WWII insignia and ceremonial collection.

The National Socialist German Workers' Party (German: Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei , abbreviated NSDAP), commonly referred to in English as the NSDAP Party, was a far-right political party in Germany that was active between 1920 and 1945, that created and supported the ideology of National Socialism. Its precursor, the German Workers' Party (Deutsche Arbeiterpartei; DAP), existed from 1919 to 1920.

The NSDAP Party emerged from the German nationalist, racist and populist Freikorps paramilitary culture, which fought against the communist uprisings in post-World War I Germany. The party was created to draw workers away from communism and into völkisch nationalism. Initially, NSDAP political strategy focused on anti-big business, anti-bourgeois, and anti-capitalist rhetoric, although this was later downplayed to gain the support of business leaders, and in the 1930s the party's main focus shifted to anti-Semitic and anti-Marxist themes.
