Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very good used condition WWII German National Banner flag, which measures a large 98 inches long by 54 inches wide, or 8.16 ft. by 4.5 ft. These were used inside buildings, or possibly on podiums during speeches. The fabric of the large red field feels like a cotton wool blend, or may be all cotton. Unlike some banners this size, the body is made from a single piece of fabric, and it is  double sided with a single piece cotton white circles with printed black Swasses (Hook Crosses) sewn onto both sides.

Condition is very good, and it shows age toning and some staining consistent with service. We assume it was probably on display in an NSDAP office or other location before being captured and brought home by a USGI. There are no holes or major wear to the fabric, so it does look to have been well cared for since capture. No maker markings are visible.

There is not a hanger loop on either end, and it looks like both ends may have been re-sewn at some time. There is also some thread used that is not the usual red, so it may have originally been much larger, but made smaller to bring home after capture. Definitely some interesting potential for further study.

This would be perfect for a WWII German wall display!

The NSDAP, Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, (National Socialist German Worker’s Party), was originally founded in Munich as the DAP, Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, (German Worker’s Party), on January 5TH 1919. When Adolf AH joined the DAP in the autumn of 1919 he was to reform what was basically a debating society into an active political party. Appointed as the first chairman of the party on July 29TH 1921 AH was to restructure it along para-military lines in a hierarchy of four levels of government.
