Original Item: Only One Available. This is a lovely service used condition WWII German National Banner, which measures a large but still displayable 136 inches long by 48 inches wide, or 11.33 ft. by 4 ft.. These were hung both outside and inside buildings, or possibly on podiums during speeches, though this is a bit large for the latter. It is of all cotton construction, and is double sided with a single piece cotton white circles with printed black Swasses (Hook Crosses) sewn onto both sides. It features a hanger sleeves hemmed onto both of the short sides, with one showing some corner reinforcements, which we assume is the "top". There is also a small maker label on the corner on that side which reads:
fahnenrichter
gegr. 1869 KÖLN
This is a known maker of German WWII flags with a long history, as "gegr." is short for gegründet (founded), so the company was founded in 1869.
Condition is very good, and it has a great look that shows it was "really there", with wear, fraying, edge tears, and other condition issues consistent with use in service. The top header sleeve in particular has some sizeable torn holes. We usually see these looking like they were taken out of a closet by a USGI, so getting one with some real wear is always a treat. The colors are relatively well retained, with the red still vibrant, while there is some light age toning to the white sections.
This would be perfect for a WWII German wall display!

When Adolf AH joined the DAP in the autumn of 1919 he was to reform what was basically a debating society into an active political party.
