Original German WWII NSDAP Kreis Level Administrative Armband with White Piping and Faded RZM Tag

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice Original German WWII Party Administration Level Wool and Rayon Construction National Socialist Party Armband, brought home by a U.S.G.I. after the war.  The National Socialist German Workers' Party (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, abbreviated NSDAP), commonly known in English as the NSDAP Party, was a political party in Germany between 1919 and 1945. It was known as the German Workers' Party (DAP) before the name was changed in 1920.

The party's last leader, Adolf AH, was appointed Chancellor of Germany by president Paul von Hindenburg in 1933. AH rapidly established a totalitarian regime known as the Third Reich.

While most members of the NSDAP wore the standard armband, starting in 1939 the "armband system" was instituted by the NSDAP Party. This was done at the same time that the political leadership ranks were expanded into their final form. The purpose of the armband system was to denote positional titles within the NSDAP Party in contrast to a party member's political rank.

This example is a Leiter eines Hauptamtes (Head Department Leader) rank armband, with white piping, indicating that it is from the Kreis level, for one of the districts or counties with within each Gau. The armband is in very good condition, and measures approximately 16 1/2 " x 5", with the ends sewn together. It is of multi-piece construction, with a wool main body, which has machine embroidered oak leaf borders attached. The Swas (Swas) is made from two pieces of black rayon, with a gold rope border, folded and sewn to the white background, which is a separate piece as well. This is sewn to the standard red background. On the outer edge is the white piping, for the administrative level. The Town, District, and National levels all used different colored piping.

The inside still features the original RZM tag which is still lightly attached and worn. The tag has a correct “J” tax code and features the RZM logo as well as the ink stamped numerical designation of the hersteller (manufacturer) A4 84?, however the rest of the tag is missing unfortunately. There also has been a piece of red felt sewn in behind the swas, to protect the back of the embroidery once the paper wore away.

This is a very good condition example of an NSDAP High ranking official's multi piece Party Armband, complete with RZM label, ready to add to your collection!
