Item Description
Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very good condition WWII German National Banner, which measures a very displayable 64 inches long by 30 inches wide. These were used inside buildings, or possibly on podiums during speeches. It is of all cotton construction, and is double sided with a single piece cotton white circles with dyed black Swasses (Hook Crosses) sewn onto both sides. This example is a multi-piece construction with the white circles being one piece and sewn onto both sides.
Condition is very fair, with just a few tiny holes and one small tear on the swas on one side, and speckled staining from storage, making this one of the best examples we have had recently. The colors are very well retained, with minimal age toning to the white circles, and a vibrant red field. No maker markings are visible, and it looks to have had one end cut off, probably the hanger sleeve end when it was cut off from where it was hanging. It is now fraying on that side in spots, so this example would do best in a frame.
This would be perfect for a WWII German wall display! Comes ready for further research and display.
