Original German WWII NSDAP Cavalry Union Zweibrücken Multi-piece Cotton Armband with Badge & Buttonhole Pin

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very interesting service used original German WWII Mid-War Style National Socialist Party Ärmelbinde (Armband), most likely brought home by a U.S.G.I. after the war. Unlike most we see, this has two relatively clear round issue stamps from the Kavallerieveiren Zweibrücken u. Umgebung (Cavalry Union for Zweibrücken and the vicinity) on the reverse, with the symbol of the Cavalry Union in the middle. Additionally it has a lovely nickel silver Cavallerie-Verein Zweibrücken badge attached to the armband.

Along with the armband is a lovely 20mm wide enameled buttonhole pin with KAVALLERIE-VEREIN / ZWEIBRÜCKEN in the translucent red border around the edge, with a horse's head in black and white enamel in the middle. The reverse of the pin is maker marked by L. CHR. LAUER / NÜRNBERG-BERLIN.

Aside from the stampings and other items, this is pretty much a standard NSDAP armband, as worn by party members, and was also worn by many service members and other personnel during the war. It features a red cotton band with a white cloth circle, which bears a BeVo machine embroidered black swas (hook cross). Measures approximately 16" x 4 1/8", and is sewn together in the back.

Overall condition is very good, showing staining and wear from service. A great cavalry armband set, ready to research and display!

The National Socialist German Workers' Party (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, abbreviated NSDAP), commonly known in English as the NSDAP Party, was a political party in Germany between 1919 and 1945. It was known as the German Workers' Party (DAP) before the name was changed in 1920. The party's last leader, Adolf AH, was appointed Chancellor of Germany by president Paul von Hindenburg in 1933. AH rapidly established a totalitarian regime known as the Third Reich.
