Item Description
Original Items: Only One Set of Two Available. This is a lovely set of two German WWII wartime newspapers from the early war period, after the defeat of France and before the United States officially entered the war. These are really treasure troves of information regarding how the war was presented to the public in Germany, as opposed to how it really was.
The newspapers both measure about 15" x 11", and the first is a copy of Berliner Illustrierte Zeitung (Berlin Illustrated Newspaper) dated 12. Juni 1941, which shows motorcycle troopers on the cover, and the interior deals with a lot of other things than the war. The second newspaper is a copy of IB Illustrierter Beobachter (Illustrated Observer), dated 8. Mai 1941, which is inside a protective paper sleeve, so all we have been able to do is to get the French label on the inside to see the date. The cover shows a Waffen SS officer with the caption Schwere Artillerie nach vorn! (Heavy Artillery Forward!).
Some great WWII Research materials!
