Original German WWII Naval Kriegsmarine Marked M38 Long Wehrmacht Gas Mask Can - dated 1943

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice Long Model 1938 Wehrmacht type gas mask carrying can, which was introduced to house the stiffer M38 gas masks. The previous version was about 24.5cm long, while this model is 28cm long. It looks to have seen long service, and the paint is definitely worn. There has been some repainting on the inside of the can and the lid. The original metal sleeve that would normally be on the inside is missing, and the carry straps are as well, with only the closure strap still intact.
The spare lens compartment is maker marked e b u in a triangle (unknown) and dated 43. More importantly, inside of the container it has an EAGLE / M Waffen proof, the marking of the German Kriegsmarine! We have never seen one of these before, and the inside of the lens compartment has not been repainted, so this is definitely an original marking!
German Kriegsmarine militaria is always very desirable on the market, as much went down with the many ships they lost during the war. Ready to add to your collection and display!
