  • Original Item: Only One Available. Excellent condition genuine WWII German Kriegsmarine sailor’s Donald Duck hat. These caps were worn by all Junior NCO’s and enlisted men. The cap is in excellent nearly unissued condition and the internal crown stiffening wire is still intact. The tallies are like new. The front reads 6. Schiffsstammabteilung.


    The cap is a size 59cm and is ink stayed 59 on the site internal peak stiffner. It is also nicely stamped:

    The 6. Schiffs-Stamm-Abteilung


    The 6 ship master department was part of peacekeepers with the Wilhelmshaven site and was established in April 1937. It was under the 2nd Admiral of the North Sea. In June 1940, the department was moved to Gdynia and renamed 16 Ship master department.


    On 1 October 1940, the 6th ship master department in Wilhelmshaven was reorganized. It was under the 2nd Admiral of the North Sea and the ship 5. Family Regiment. In April 1941, she was moved to Steenwijk in Holland. In March 1945 the Department for Marine Rifle Regiment was 161 reclassified.
