Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice Early WWII produced police pattern Tschako in black, which pre-dates the more common green wool body version. It has has very fine quality police eagle with aluminum cockade (often missing), though one of the securing nuts is missing from the back of the plate.
A great Polizei helmet (shako) as used by the metropolitan police, unlike some of the more common ones found trimmed in brown for rural police, this one is with black trim for the metropolitan police.
Interior is fine, leather is supple and in excellent condition, and has the original black string top tie. Complete with original leather chinstrap in great shape. Overall it shows only hardly any wear, black lacquered finish still excellent. Vents are in very good condition, and are the type that has no slide closure. Interior of helmet still has original makers label from the well-known firm of BEROLINA, as well as a cloth label with the German Surname Haberl. This would indicate the officer it was issued to.
Overall a fine looking rare police Shako, ready to add to your collection!
