Original Item: Recently purchased directly from the family of a 93 year-old veteran is this genuine USGI bring back. This set includes the following-
Original light brown wool silver bullion thread embroidered Motorisierte Gendarmerie cuff title. Motorisierte Gendarmerie translates to motorized rural police. Title is in very good condition with a couple minor moth holes as can be seen in the photos. These cuff titles are extremely hard to find and examples like this have sold by in excess of $750/ea.
Original German Feldgendarmerie Embroidered TRIER Named patch. It is goldenrod and black silk floss embroidered on gray-green wool felt with an embroidered applied "Trier" city identification. It measures approximately 3.5 inches by 4.5 inches. The overall condition is near mint. Trier may be the oldest city in Germany, founded in or before 16 BC. It lies in a valley between low vine-covered hills of ruddy sandstone in the west of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate, near the border with Luxembourg.
Original German Feldgendarmerie deep brown wool uniform tunic collar with correct orange piping and collar rank tabs.
Original pebbled aluminum German Police belt buckle, with L.U.F manufacture code.
Original German Police aiguillette tri-color braided cord, three colors, brown, orange and white with gold painted wooden knob ends.
Original WWII German Map Case Z.m.P. Accessories Pouch. This is an interesting late-war example marked gwr with leather divider to small pouch and no felt lining. Standard size of Bag: 22 x 17 cm (8 5/8" x 6 6/8").
As found inside the Map case are the following printed material which is fascinating as it indicates that the owner, from Trier, was most likely planning a vacation to the eastern part of Germany (Trier and Obere Saale are about a six hour drive apart).
o Original 1940 small book Die deutsche Kriegsflotte by Reibisch, Paul printed in 1940 that has a complete photographic listing of all the ships of the German Navy. Excellent condition.
o Original 1940 tourist foldout brochure with photos of the Thüringen area forest known as the Obere Saale-Frankenwald. Excellent condition.
o Original 1939 tourist foldout brochure with photos of the Thüringen town Wurzbach. Excellent Condition
o Original 1939 printed picture book titled, Nr. 99 Deutschland-Bildheft - Die obere Saale (photos of the region).
