Original German WWII Model 1933 Transitional SS Dagger by Carl Eickhorn - RZM 941/38 SS

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. This Eickhorn SS EM Dagger is equipped with a nickel-plated tang nut and crossguard. The guards are still bright throughout. They do show some very mild wear here and there, but this is normal service wear and does not detract from the dagger's appearance.

The grip is ebony and is a Medium Contour example. It shows mild signs of hand wear but overall is in very good condition. The fit to the guards is tight. The symbol button is one of the convex types. It is positioned nice and straight and in clean bright condition. The grip eagle is an early nickel type with a slightly upward pointing beak. This eagle is in good condition and retains all of the detailing throughout.

The scabbard shell is straight throughout. It has black paint which shows modest carrying wear. This paint remains 75% intact and retains much of the original luster. The scabbard mounts are also nickel-plated and remain bright, nicely matching the guards in terms of wear. These mounts are retained by dome head screws which are all in place.

The blade of this dagger is still bright, having some of the normal in and out marks. The tip is still needle-like, and the SS motto remains in good, crisp condition. The etch retains about 95% of the original darkening in the backgrounds. The reverse ricasso is matching etched with a single RZM circle set over the code 941/38 SS. Beneath this is the 1935-41 Eickhorn Squirrel trademark. The blade shoulders perfectly fit the lower crossguard contour. Factory final polish on the blade is almost completely intact.

A very nice transitional RZM SS Dagger here, from one of the most prolific period manufacturers.
