Original German WWII MG15 Patronen Trommel Magazine with Loading Tools

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. This 75 round machine gun magazine was issued with the German MG 15 Machinegun. Seen most often in WW2 Luftwaffe newsreels as the armaments on German Fighters and Bombers.

The MG 15 was also used as an infantry weapon with an adapter to take ground mounts and ultimately some were converted to water cooled as the high rate of fire was burning out the air cooled barrels at sea level. Here is a well marked double trammel magazine, coded "awf" and dated "40" for 1940. It comes complete with scarce "prestof" (ersatz) leather carry strap. The whole is in excellent condition still with capacity numerals picked out in their original red paint.

With it comes the rapid hand loader and loading tray together with the hopper chute that allowed stripper clips of 7.92mm cartridges to be quickly loaded into the 75 round magazine. The rapid hand loader engages both magazine springs simultaneously winding the two springs in opposite directions purely using thumb pressure. These loading machines are exceptionally hard to find.

The wood loading tray is waffen amt marked and dated 1934. For full information see "MG34-MG42, GERMAN UNIVERSAL MACHINE GUNS" by Folke Myrvang, pages 397- 401.

A very rare set, seldom seen today.
