Item Description
Original Item: 1936 Officers pattern Tschako with police green wool body and black trim. Has very fine quality police officer eagle with bullion wire cockade with rare matte-silver aluminum scaled chinstrap denoting the rank of an officer. A great Polizei helmet (shako) as used by the metropolitan police, unlike some of the more common ones found trimmed in brown for rural police, this one is with black trim is for the metropolitan police.
Interior is excellent, leather is supple and shows only light age, the cloth silk rayon material is fully intact, leather sweatband is ink stamped size 59 which is a nice large size.
Overall it shows very minor wear with some light moth track in the wool on the reverse. Vents are perfect condition with working slide closures. Overall a fine looking rare officer’s Shako, about as good as they come.
