Original Item: Acquired directly from a veteran’s family, this is a wonderful M42 Single decal Luftwaffe helmet with original paint, decal, liner, split pins/washers and chin strap.
The exterior exhibits a light amount of wear, with approximately 70% of the factory paint remaining. The authentic and original Luftwaffe droop tail decal is in good condition showing detail with about 75% still remaining. Shell in maker stamped and size stamped 64 along with batch number 2991. Tight fitting liner system is 100% original to the helmet. All three untouched split pin rivet fasteners are intact and complete with all three slotted washers. The leather liner fully pliable, undamaged and has taken on a darkened aged appearance. Liner is approximately a size 57-58. Drawstring absent. Chin strap is totally original and in very dry hard condition.
Overall a very good condition condition single decal Luftwaffe helmet in a nice large size.
