Original German WWII M38 Luftschutz Air Defense Gladiator Style Helmet - Size 55

Original Items: Only one set available. This is an excellent original M1938 Beaded Luftschutz Gladiator German helmet. The exterior of this German helmet retains about 95% of the original dark blue paint. The helmet retains the original split pin rivets. The Luftschutz decal is clean and 95% complete, with the usual yellowing of age. This is definitely one of the better decals we have had.
The inner skirt is maker marked RL2 38/28. In addition there is a paint stamp that usually reads:

gemäß § 8 Luftschutzgesetz
Kopfweite 55
Höchstpreis RM 8.--
Some of the stamp has chipped off over time. This stamp appears to be a distribution stamp, which translates to: "Highest Price 8 Reichsmark. Distribution approved according to Section 8 Air protection legislation. Head Width 55."
Liner is mostly complete, and is the late war style made from rubberized fabric, with some leather fittings. The chin strap is also rubberized fabric, and unfortunately has become detached on one end. It is quite delicate and has numerous repairs.
Overall a very nice complete German WWII M38 Luftschutz helmet.
