Original Item: Only One Available. This is one of the nicest examples of a WWII German M-1924 German Stick Grenade we have ever offered. This very nice example has been demilitarized according to specifications by the BATF. It still retains its original paint and the original markings can be seen on both the head and shaft of the grenade. The interior even still retains bead, but no pull cord. This example came to us with the knowledge that it had purportedly been brought back by a U.S. Navy D-Day Veteran, but we have no paperwork to back this up.
Unloaded or dummy grenades, artillery shell casings, and similar devices, which are cut or drilled in an BATF-approved manner so that they cannot be used as ammunition components for destructive devices, are not considered NFA weapons. This example is in total compliance and is NOT AVAILABLE FOR EXPORT.
The warhead is empty and demilitarized; it does unscrew from the shaft and some of the original fuse is still present. It is painted the correct green over a red primer, and the stencil on the front is still legible: VOR GEBRAUCH SPRENGKAPSEL EINSETZEN (Before use insert detonator) over Rdt. Do 4/1940 / So. The top of the warhead is stamped ЯR 90-1940 for manufacture in 1940 by Richard Rinker.
The wood shaft of the grenade is also clearly stamped with ЯR 1940 for 1940 manufacture by Richard Rinker. This makes the grenade a great matching example. The bottom end cap is still present, and the bead is still intact, but there is no pull string. The wood is in fair condition but does have small nicks and denting.
This is a fine all original example with known maker markings, purportedly brought back by a D-Day veteran. Ready to display!
