  • Original Item: One of a Kind. This was just acquired from a collector at a large military collection. This is a very nice German WWII Cigarette case, made from Nickel Silver, with a Luftwaffe "droop-tail" eagle in a box on the front. The inside is marked in German "Black Letter" type face with the following inscription:


    Dem Geschwader - Führer
    zum 20en Luftsieg


    This roughly translates to "The squadron leader for the 20th air victory", so this was presented to the Squadron Leader after their 20th air victory. 


     


    The case itself measures 3 3/8" x  3 1/8" x 1/2", and the latch and hinge are fully functional. The original elastic straps on the inside of the case have unfortunately broken off, and are not present.


    A wonderful piece of German WWII Militaria!
