  • Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice WWII German Luftwaffe Officer's Bullion Dress Brocade Belt, with attached early pattern silvered nickel alloy buckle. These belts were worn with the dress uniform for ceremonial occasions, and were standard issue to all officers with their dress uniform.

The belt buckle is of die struck/stamped, nickel-silver based construction that has been silver washed and had gold gilded insignia attached. It depicts an early droop trail pinned eagle on a pebbled background that is surrounded by an oak leaf wreath that is tied together at the bottom. The buckle is attached by two square rings to a long quality woven bright silver/aluminum bullion construction brocade belt. The belt pattern has two grey lines with a central small red line. The belt has two sliding vertical loops, which have the same pattern.

The reverse is lined in a grey/blue wool fabric, and a small hook on the end of the belt by the buckle fits into grommets on the reverse for size adjustment. The belt measures about 33 inches long in the current configuration, and the clip is attached to the center of the seven adjustment grommets. We assume it can go 2-3 inches either way. These often would have had an RZM label or other type of paper label on the back, which were removed when put into service, however on an early example such as this they may have been omitted.

The buckle is in great shape, with minimal wear, and clear frosting, as is the clasp on the other side. Both show some lovely age-related tarnishing, showing that they are indeed plated with real silver. The bullion threading on the belt is nice, with almost no wear. Both sliders are present, and look great. There is some wear to the "whipcord weave" wool backing, with a few tiny moth nips and some minor fraying.

Overall a great example of a hard to find WWII German Dress Belt, ready to display!
