Original Item: Only One Available. This is an excellent and very complete German WWII Luftwaffe Fliegerkopfhaube, model LKp W101, the leather winter flying helmet used by Luftwaffe aircrew. Manufactured for the Luftwaffe by Luftfahrt-Gerätewerk Hakenfelde G.m.b.H. under Siemens labeling, this example retains its original size 58 manufacturer's tag together with a highly desirable intact communications setup, including the installed LN26602 earphones, Mi4b / Ln 26779-2 throat microphones, wiring, and BLK v FL 27560 four pole break coupling. The helmet shows honest service wear while remaining notably complete.

Condition is very good, with the expected wear from service. There is definitely sweat and oil staining on the interior, on both the chamois and shearling. Both chin straps are still intact, as are both buckles.

The throat microphones are marked Mi4b and Ln 26779-2 meaning the avionics are composed of oval Mi4b magnetic type throat microphones with four-pole break coupling/plug. The helmet carries the short communication cord favored by fighter pilots and is fitted with a plug that is nicely marked BLK v FL 27560.

What makes this example especially desirable is the combination of its clear Siemens and Luftfahrt-Gerätewerk Hakenfelde manufacturer's label, size 58 marking, original LN26602 receivers, Mi4b / Ln 26779-2 throat microphones, BLK v FL 27560 coupling, intact straps and buckles, and honest service staining. Complete avionics are frequently the first components lost from surviving flying helmets, so their presence gives this LKp W101 considerably greater historical and display interest. It would make an excellent addition to a collection devoted to Luftwaffe flight equipment, German WWII aviation, aircrew communications equipment, or fighter and bomber crew material.
