This is a very good original German WWII Luftwaffe LKp W101 winter flying helmet, constructed from dark brown leather with a warm fur lining and chamois-covered interior contact areas. The original specification label identifies it as a size 58 LKp W101, Gerät-Nr. 124-436 A, with Anforderungszeichen Ln 26618, carrying Siemens identification and naming Luftfahrt-Gerätewerk Hakenfelde G.m.b.H. as the supplier. The helmet retains both chin straps and buckles, but its communications equipment is incomplete: the external wiring has been cut away at the rear and both original earphone receivers are missing.

The helmet still has a clear original manufacturers tag on the interior rear:

Condition is very good, with the expected wear from service. There is definitely minor sweat staining on the interior, on both the chamois and shearling. Both chin straps are still intact, as are both buckles.
