Original German WWII Luftwaffe Leather Drop Holster for the Browning FN Model 1910/1922 7.65mm Pistol by Gustav Reinhardt - Dated 1943

Item Description

Original item: Only One Available. Known as "Theurermann Patent for Browning 1922" this unique form holster was seized by the Germans when invading Belgium and re-issued to German Officers. It features quality brown leather construction with what was originally white stitching, but it has now matured to a lovely dark brown color with stained stitching.

The interior bears the correct stamped marking, indicating the type of pistol it was for, though it is quite faint:

Nur für lange Browning
Pistole Kal. 7.65

This translates to "Only for Long Browning Pistol 7.65 Cal". The back of the holster bears the marking jsd 1943, indicating production by Gustav Reinhardt, Lederwarenfabrik, located at Brandenburgstr., Berlin SW 68. Condition is very good, with just a bit of the stitching pulling at the edge of the main compartment. The inside is stained, showing it must have held a pistol for quite some time.

The holster design is rather ingenious, allowing one to remove the securing strap, and then pull it downward and in to cause straps attached to the belt loop to pull the flap open. Definitely a type of holster not seen every day.

In fine matured condition ready to use or display with your Browning 1910/1922 pistol!
