  • Original Item. Only One Available. This is an unbelievably scarce piece that we couldn’t find many other examples of. This is a sealed and untouched Sanitätstasche für Flugzeuge, or First Aid Bag for Aircraft, meant to be used by the flight crew in the event of a medical emergency. The top of the pack still retains the Red Cross marking and its manufacture information, reading:

    Sanitätstasche für Flugzeuge
    Hersteller: OCO
    Baumuster: S I n A
    Größe: 15 x 14 x 11 cm
    Gewicht: 940 Gramm
    Anforderungszeichen: S 10181
    Anfertigungs-Nr. * 35877
    Herstellungsjahr: 1944

    Which translates to:

    Aircraft First Aid Bag
    Manufacturer: OCO
    Model: S I n A
    Size: 15 x 14 x 11 cm
    Weight: 940 grams
    Request Code: S 10181
    Production No. * 35877
    Year of Manufacture: 1944

The bottom of the pack retains the “Inhalt” or Content information, which includes one Stringer, wire conductor rail, iodine pencil, quick connection bandage, 12 safety pins, 4 bandage packs, one Wismoth Brandy, 1 meter of zinc rubber plasters, one tube of bor salve, one aluminum case containing 1 record syringe, 2 hollow needles, 2 ampoules of Cardiazide, 2 ampules of caffein, 2 ampules of Lobelin, and 2 ampules..

The pack is still entirely sealed with the rope looped through the small slits in the cover, tied off at the end with a small metal “seal”. Attached to the rope is the original tag translating to TEAR OPEN THE THREAD ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE, THEN PULL FIRMLY TO OPEN. We’ve never seen another example of this pack, but we are confident in saying that this is one of the most well-preserved examples out there.

The pack measures 6 x 5¼ x 4½”. Don’t miss out on this fantastic piece, as we will likely never see another one. Comes ready for further research and display.
