Original Item: Only One Available. This is a lovely right collar section measuring 5 1/2" x 5" cut of from German WWII Luftwaffe Air Force fliegerbluse (flight blouse) uniform tunic. When USGIs brought back items from the ETO, often they would cut up things like uniforms, taking off parts with the insignia, which took up much less space than an entire uniform. The uniform this was removed from looks to have seen moderate to heavy service during the war, and the fliegerblau (flyer's blue) blue gray fabric now shows overall staining and wear to the "knap" of the fabric.

The collar section has an attached Kragenpatte (Collar Flap) is in Goldgelb (Gold-Yellow), the correct Waffenfarbe (Corps Color) for Aviator troops such as pilots, air crew, and ground personnel, as well as Fallschirmjäger (parachute troops). There is a row of 5mm silver tresse around the bottom and left side, and a single gull wing pin, which indicates the NCO rank of Unteroffizier, equivalent to a U.S. Army Air corps Sergeant.
