  • Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice "dismounted pattern" genuine German WWII leather bayonet frog (Seitengewehrtragetasche), as used with the bayonets for the K98k and other service rifles. Sometimes called the "later pattern", it had the securing strap found on mounted patterns removed.

This is a great wartime example, featuring black leather construction with white stitches, and the rivets and securing stud are galvanized steel. The back reads:

    gtg
    43

This frog does not “got to go”, this is actually the three-letter maker code for Carl Hepting and Co. in Stuttgart. The 43 denotes a 1943 manufacture date.

Condition is very good for the most part, though there is some crazing near the top. The rivets and stitching are all secure, and this would make a great addition to any German WWII field gear collection.
