This design was in use as early as 1867 and has continued in use until today, except for the few years in which there was no German Navy, and for East Germany from 1945 until 1990. This particular example dates from the second world and measures 1.5 meters by 1.5 meters. Constructed of wool with heavy stitching with hoist loop line intact.
