Original German WWII Kriegsmarine U-boat Torpedo Timer Stop Watch by Junghans

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. WWII production for the German Navy and marked with spread eagle and swas stamping over a large initial M for Marine under the plated finish. This one was made by the German WW2 Military Contractor Junghans and is marked as such on the dial. This is the classic design for Torpedo timing and used in U-Boats and E-Boats in the North Atlantic.

This stopwatch is offered in great condition and we believe once cleaned up, it should function properly. As of right now this is just a display piece. The fluted knob on the top controls everything. You wind it up and when you push it in once the single seconds had starts moving immediately. On the second push, the second hand freezes at the time elapsed position. On the third push the timer resets itself to zero ready for reuse.

The face is maker marked below center:

Junghans

Junghans was founded by Erhard Junghans on April 15 1861, and continues to make quality timepieces in Schramberg, Baden-Württemberg, Germany today. We opened the case and the movement is correctly marked, and looks to be a Junghans model 29a, serial 36119.

How many times have we all seen these being used in WW2 movies?
