  • Original Item: Only One Available. This is a good pair of extremely rare German WWII Kriegsmarine U-boat 7x50 binoculars, made by Carl Zeiss of Jena, a specialist lens maker, and one of the finest makers of the time. This set is completely stripped of its rubber fittings, and there are no straps or case. Rubber fitted optics made them virtually impervious to moisture, possibly even if immersed in water for a short time, definitely a plus on a U-boat! The set still displays well without its fittings.

The rear of the right barrel is marked:

    7 x 50
    64169
    blc

The use of the three letter code indicates that these were made after 1940. "blc" marked on represents Carl Zeiss, Jena, a legendary maker of optics.

The binoculars do show signs of use and wear, especially present on the paint, but the optics are still clear and the binos present as being completely functional. The leather neckstrap is gone.

A fair example of an incredibly rare set of U-Boat binoculars. Comes ready for further research and display!
