Original German WWII Kriegsmarine Navy Marked U-Boat Brass Clock With Key - Functional

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a lovely example of a WWII production bulkhead mounted clock for the German Navy and marked with spread eagle and swas stamping over a large initial M for Marine under the plated finish. These were seen on both regular Naval Vessels as well as the U-Boats lurking beneath the water’s surface. Keeping time was a vital tool for Naval operations as they were not only used for timekeeping but various other types of operations and unit measurements.

The clock itself is brass housed and painted black. The clock itself is fully functional, includes the original “Swiss Made” marked key but is missing the seconds hand. The face of the clock is still fully legibly with easy to read markings. The face is protected by a glass hinged door which is unlocked using the multi-sized key in order to wind it. There is ticking present and the minutes hand does show movement. The face measures 7 ⅜” in total diameter and sits at approximately 3 ¾” tall. All mounting “ears” are present if you should wish to mount the clock. The reverse is marked with serial number 8463.

A lovely example that comes more than ready for further research and display.
