  • Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice set of German WWII binoculars known by the German Wehrmacht as a Dienstglas 7x50 (service glass 7x50). They are marked with the specifications and maker information on the rear of the right barrel:

    Dienstglas
    7 x 50
    153965
    bmk (blue triangle)

Maker code bmk stands for the maker Srb & Stys Fabrik Präziser Messinstrumente (Factory of precise measuring instruments"), located in occupied Prague, Czechoslovakia. The blue triangle denotes the cold rating of the lubricant used inside the adjusting oculars. The optics are clear, just a bit dirty, and everything functions correctly. There is a range reticule in the right side, which is still fully visible.

The pair are complete with leather eye cup cover as well as a leather neck strap (somewhat delicate). As an added treat, they have "flip up" eyepieces, which allow them to be more easily used when wearing glasses or other devices that prevent the eyecups from being pressed to the eyes. These were only issued for Kriegsmarine use, so even though there are not any specific Naval proofs, this pair is definitely from the WWII German Navy.

The hard shell black leather case with heavy white stitching is in very good condition. The front of the case, on the lip of the top edge, is stamped with German manufacturing data ks[d] 1944 which identifies the maker as Walter Winkler of Schönwalderstrasse 101 in Berlin-Spandau, a maker of leather wares and military accoutrements. There is a faint Waffenamt inspection mark to the right of this. The shoulder strap is however missing, as is the stud where the closure strap attaches to.

A very nice set of Kriegsmarine Dienstglas Binoculars, complete with their original case.
