  • Original Items: Only One Set Available. This is a very nice collection of German WWII Insignia, which was brought back from the European theater by a USGI after the war was concluded. Many solders traded these on the way back, and would end up with a pocket full of various different collectible items, and this set represents the typical "haul" one might have come back with. It includes nice variety of Police Insignia, as well as some things that we have never seen before!

    This lovely set includes:

    - One embroidered German WWII Schutzpolizei NCO Ärmelhoheitsabzeichen (Protection Police Arm Eagle Insignia). The badge features the correct police blue gray (Faded) background with Police Hellgrün (light green) embroidery, the correct Truppenfarbe (troop color) for the protection police (Schupo). In November 1941, all Police Sleeve Eagles could cease to have district markings, so this was made afterwards. This example is made from wool felt and definitely looks to have been installed on a uniform before, as indicated by the stitch markings and stitching around the edge. It shows some tearing and moth damage on the reverse.

    - One embroidered German WWII Schutzpolizei des Gemeinden NCO Ärmelhoheitsabzeichen (Municipal Protection Police Arm Eagle Insignia). The badge features the correct police blue gray (Faded) background with Police bordeauxrot (Bordeaux or Wine Red) embroidery, the correct Truppenfarbe (troop color) for the municipal protection police. In November 1941, all Police Sleeve Eagles could cease to have district markings, so this was made afterwards. Then in 1942 the Schupo des Gemeinden was absorbed into the Schupo des Reiches, effectively ending the branch's existence

This example is made from wool felt with a black fabric backing, and definitely shows signs of having been stitched to a uniform, with some of the thread still remaining around the edge. It also may have been glued to a display board at some point, as we can see traces of paper and glue on the back.

    - One embroidered German WWII Feuerschutzpolizei NCO Ärmelhoheitsabzeichen (Fire Protection Police Arm Eagle Insignia) from Birkenhügel. The badge features the correct navy blue background with karminrot (carmine red) embroidery, the correct Truppenfarbe (troop color) for the fire police. In November 1941, all Police Sleeve Eagles could cease to have district markings, so this was made prior to that. This example is made from from wool fabric and has stitching at the edges, indicating it was removed from a uniform. It definitely shows some wear and tearing at the edges.

    - One German WWII Era Unidentified High Ranking Police Shoulder Board. We looked high and low, but were not able to completely identify this item. It features WWI Style silver Russia Brade with silver chevrons, as well as green piping, plaited together in an interesting fashion.

    - One German WWII SS Schutzmannschaft Local Collaborator Auxiliary Police Officer Sleeve Insignia. The Schutzmannschaft (Protection team), shortened to Schuma, was an organization made to police the occupied territories in the USSR and the Baltic States.

    - One German WWII Kriegsmarine Navy Sports Shirt Eagle Insignia for M35 Sport Shirt. It has the correct blue BeVo embroidered Wehrmachtadler insignia, however the white background has been stained somewhat pinkish over the years. It does not look to have been installed on a sports shirt, though since it has been laundered it is difficult to tell.

    - One German WWII Era NSDAP Paper Streamer Banner, still folded up with the string. This is made from many pieces of thin paper glued together, and we assume it is pulled apart to display it. We did not make any attempt to expand it to avoid damaging it.

A wonderful totally genuine grouping perfect for the German Insignia collector. Ready to research and display!
