  • Original Item: Only One Available. The 3.7 cm Flak 18/36/37/43 was a series of anti-aircraft cannon produced by NSDAP Germany that saw widespread service in the Second World War. The cannon was fully automatic and effective against aircraft flying at altitudes up to 4,200 m. The cannon was produced in both towed and self-propelled versions. Having a flexible doctrine, the Germans used their anti-aircraft pieces in ground support roles as well; 37 mm caliber guns were no exception to that. With Germany's defeat, production ceased and, overall, 37 mm caliber anti-aircraft cannon fell into gradual disuse.

This is a great set consisting of an inert 3.7cm Flak 18 Anti-Aircraft Round contained in its original ammunition shell case. This ammunition box was used to safely transport FLAK shells. The case itself is nearly identical to the German WWII M24 Stick Grenade Case, however the internal rack is different. The case is great but has some heavy material loss and overall oxidation and wear. It retains little of the original Afrikakorps tan color paint. The only retained stencil is on the side with the handle, reading Flak 18. The side of the case with the handle retains a Waffenamt Stamp WaA70 next to ke /1941. This appears to be a partial maker’s mark. Some of the interior frame is broken as shown with pieces missing or heavily oxidized. It is in relic condition overall.

The original German Flak 18 round is completely void of any explosive content nor is it able to be used as an explosive device. The round is in compliance with the current BATF standards on inert ordnance.

The round is in great shape with most of the yellow paint of the body retained. The fuze is stamped:

    3,7cm Kpt Z Zerl Pv dbm 1941

This denotes 1941 manufacture. The body is stamped Sk. 7.11.41 Hs. The bottom of the casing is stamped:

    XI a
    18
    wa 41
    6348 St
    3,7cm Flak 18

An excellent set, ready for display.
