Item Description
Original Item. Only One Available. The Flak 30 (Flugzeugabwehrkanone 30) and improved Flak 38 were 20 mm anti-aircraft guns used by various German forces throughout World War II. It was not only the primary German light anti-aircraft gun, but by far the most produced German artillery piece throughout the war. It was produced in a variety of models, notably the Flakvierling 38 which combined four Flak 38 autocannons onto a single carriage. As with all deactivated ordnance, this item is not available for export.
This German 20mm round is in rough shape with major paint loss on the head. The projectile can be removed from the shell to inspect the interior. The fuze of the projectile is marked 529 (Waffenamt) WaA596 AZ. 49 exs 44. The bottom of the shell is marked 223 emp 4 Waffenamt WaA232. The shell is in fair shape with some flaws but overall a great piece.
The Flak 38 gun was used singularly or in the Quad Vierling 38 mount as an anti-aircraft weapon. The brass cartridge case is percussion primed and retains most of the original lacquer. This is a phenomenal piece with clear markings, don’t miss it.
