  • Original Item: Only One Available. This is an excellent original German WWII M24 Stielhandgranate, or Model 1924 stick grenade, retaining unusually strong original markings on both the warhead and wooden handle. The grenade has been completely deactivated and is inert, with the warhead empty and no explosive material present. The head unscrews from the handle for inspection, while the lower cap, pull string, porcelain bead, and internal wire remain present.

Unloaded or dummy grenades, artillery shell casings, and similar devices, which are cut or drilled in an BATF-approved manner so that they cannot be used as ammunition components for destructive devices, are not considered NFA weapons. This example is in total compliance and is NOT AVAILABLE FOR EXPORT.

The warhead does not appear to be repainted, and it retains the complete original stencil, reading:

    VOR GEBRAUCH
    SPRENGKAPSEL
    EINSETZEN

This means “Before use, insert detonator”. The warhead bears a Waffenamt WaA244 on the top, under the stamped maker marking ЯR 90-1940 for manufacture in 1940 by a subcontractor of Richard Rinker. The warhead is empty and demilitarized. The warhead is able to be unscrewed from the collar to inspect the interior.

The wood shaft of the grenade is stamped ЯR 1940 denoting 1940 manufacture by Richard Rinker. This makes the grenade a great matching example. The bottom end cap is still present, and the porcelain bead and pull string are still retained inside with a metal wire. The wood is in excellent condition.

This example is particularly noteworthy for the combination of its 1940-dated Richard Rinker handle, 1940 Rinker-system warhead marking, WaA244 acceptance stamp, complete VOR GEBRAUCH / SPRENGKAPSEL / EINSETZEN stencil, removable head, and surviving internal pull components. The unusually complete markings make it a strong representative example of early-war M24 production.
