  • Original Item: Only One Available. This is an original German WWII HJ summer overseas cap, or Allgemeine Jugend Sommer-Mütze, constructed from tan cotton twill and trimmed with deep red Hochrot piping for the General-HJ branch. It retains its original enamel HJ diamond cap badge, RZM marked M1/13 for L. Christian Lauer of Nürnberg, as well as its original interior paper RZM tag with manufacturer code A4/427 and lot number N № 022445.

The HJ maintained a structured system of uniforms, ranks, and branch distinctions, and this lightweight summer cap was intended for warm weather wear. The tan cotton twill body is finished with deep red piping around the upper edge, identifying the General-HJ branch.

The lower front carries the original enamel HJ diamond cap badge with its safety pin style attachment. The reverse is RZM marked:

    ((RZM))
    M1/13

identifying manufacture by L. Christian Lauer of Nürnberg. The enamel remains fully intact, while the silvered metal portions have developed age related oxidation.

The interior is lined in brown rayon and shows very little evidence of wear. No size marking is visible, though the cap measures approximately 29cm from end to end.

The top interior still has an original paper RZM tag which does show light fading and tearing. It is right over the central fold, which has caused it to partly detach. The tag has a correct A tax code and features the RZM logo on the left as well as the HJ logo on the right. It bears the ink stamped numerical designation of the Hersteller (manufacturer) A4 / 427. over lot N № 022445.

Overall condition is very good with little evidence of actual use. There is a stain on the exterior top directly above the paper RZM tag, which appears consistent with migration or discoloration from the adhesive used to secure the label. The red piping remains strong, the brown rayon lining is well preserved, and the cap badge retains complete enamel.

With its tan summer construction, deep red General-HJ piping, original M1/13 L. Christian Lauer cap badge, lightly used condition, and especially desirable surviving paper RZM tag marked A4/427 with lot N № 022445, this is a particularly appealing HJ summer overseas cap. The light paper label fading and tearing, partial detachment at the fold, silvering oxidation on the badge, and exterior stain above the label are all fully disclosed. It would display especially well in an HJ uniform, General-HJ branch, RZM marked headgear, or advanced German WWII youth organization collection.
