Original Item. Only One Available. This is a scarce original German Hensoldt Dialytan 4x rifle scope fitted with a short side-rail style mount and bearing serial number 61767. Hensoldt Dialytan optics were among the commercial-pattern scopes adapted for German sniper use during WWII, including installation on Karabiner 98k rifles. This example retains its mount, clear optics, and original external markings.

This denotes manufacture by Hensoldt & Sohne Werke A-G of Wetzlar in Germany. The optics have a single vertical pointed post with a thin wire horizontal reticule. The optics are clear, and the scope retains its finish well with oxidation spotting peeking through. The mount still adjusts and works well.
During WWII the German military employed several different sniper mounting systems on the Karabiner 98k, including turret, claw, short side-rail, and later long side-rail arrangements. Hensoldt Dialytan scopes were among the optics adapted to these systems, with surviving wartime examples documented on both side-rail and turret-mounted K98k sniper rifles. The short side-rail system was later supplemented by the stronger long side-rail arrangement as wartime experience revealed weaknesses in the shorter mounting base.
The Dialytan 4x itself had commercial origins and existed in several configurations before, during, and after WWII. For that reason, the military character of an individual example depends not simply on the Dialytan name but on its exact construction, markings, mount, and any military acceptance or rifle-matching marks that may be present. Period Hensoldt examples are nevertheless well documented on German sniper rifles, including K98k systems using claw, turret, and side-rail mounts.
This example is particularly interesting for the combination of its HENSOLDT WETZLAR markings, DIALYTAN 4x designation, serial number 61767, clear post-and-wire optics, surviving original finish, and functional short side-rail style mount. The scattered oxidation is consistent with age and use, while the presence of the mount makes it substantially more complete than a loose optic alone.
