The base material of the two litzen on each side of the collar opening is Hochrot (Deep Red) wool, the Waffenfarbe (Corps Color) during WWII for Artillery, as well as General Level Officers. The two litzen themselves are woven from a fine silver flatware thread. The collar, and its insignia, are without any noticeable damage or mothing. The condition is very good, showing only light wear, and no major deterioration to the felt backing of the badge. The bullion portions are still bright and look great. Unfortunately there is minor damage to wear the lanyard attaches to the button and it was reattached.

In the modern German Bundeswehr, Feuerwerker is the collective designation to non-commissioned officers (OR5 to OR9) and officers of the military functional service with several years of special training pertaining to construction, maintenance, and destruction of ammunition.
