Original German WWII Heer EM/NCO Belt Buckle - B&N 1943

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. On January 24TH 1936 a new pattern Enlisted Men and Non-Commissioned Officer's belt buckle was officially introduced to replace the previously worn Weimar era Reichsheer buckle. The basic design of the Reichsheer buckle was retained with the addition of the new Wehrmacht style national eagle. This pattern buckle was worn through-out the Third Reich period with minor manufacturing variations.

This is an exceptional 1940 pattern, stamped steel, combat buckle. Buckle features a smooth outer field with central, high relief, embossed Wehrmacht eagle with down swept wings to slightly domed center, encompassed by an oak-leaf cluster to bottom and script, "Gott mit Uns", (God with us), to top. Oak-leaf cluster and script are on a ribbed background and encircled by an inner and outer simulated twisted rope border. Buckle retains about 99% of its original field-grey paint. Reverse of buckle is a mirror image of obverse. Reverse with brazed buckle catch, prong bar and prongs all intact. Reverse is well marked with manufactures initials and date B&N - 43, indicating manufacture by the firm of Berg und Nolte of Ludenscheid and was made in 1943. This is a truly exceptional example.
