This is an original German WWII Heer Army Feldgendarmerie military police cuff title in BeVo woven construction, showing clear evidence of period wear and previous uniform attachment. It measures approximately 14" x 1 5/16" and is woven in the correct brown ground with silver gray Gothic script Feldgendarmerie lettering flanked by woven silver lines extending the full length of the band.

The cuff title is not sewn together at the rear and retains stitch marks from previous installation on a uniform. The edges and ends show wear and fraying, while the woven face has staining and general service use consistent with long wear.

The reverse retains deteriorated adhesive residue at both ends from an older display mounting. The adhesive appears to have penetrated into the weave, and no attempt has been made to remove it because doing so could damage the original fabric.

The Feldgendarmerie served as the military police of the German Wehrmacht, carrying out duties that included traffic control, rear area security, troop movement regulation, enforcement of military discipline, and the apprehension of deserters and looters. Personnel were widely recognized by the distinctive metal gorget worn on duty, which led to the colloquial nickname Kettenhunde, or “chain dogs.”

BeVo woven cuff titles were machine produced and allowed detailed lettering and border elements to be incorporated directly into the fabric. This example retains the characteristic brown ground, silver gray Gothic script, and flanking silver lines associated with Heer Feldgendarmerie insignia.

Overall condition is good and clearly service worn, with staining, edge and end fraying, old stitch marks, and deteriorated display adhesive on the reverse. Despite this wear, the woven inscription remains clearly legible and the cuff title retains strong period character.
