  • Original Item: Only One Available. This is a lovely service used BeVo embroidered breast eagle from a German WWII Heer (Army) Uniform, as worn on the Tropical uniforms used during the North Africa campaign. It is made from the correct DAK Afrikakorps colors, with a dunkelgelb (dark yellow) base material and a blue gray machine embroidered Army Wehrmachtadler eagle. These were embroidered in long strips, with the individual eagles cut off into rectangular sections. The extra backing would be folded underneath and the eagle stitched onto the right breast of the uniform.

This example measures approximately 4 1/4"W x 1 3/4"H, and is definitely a uniform removed example. We can see the extra fabric folded under the back, and there are stitch marks along the edge. There is definitely some fraying of the material, so we assume this was taken from a uniform that saw long use.

A great service used example, ready to display!

The Afrika Korps or German Africa Corps (Deutsches Afrikakorps or DAK) was the German expeditionary force in Africa during the North African Campaign of World War II. First sent as a holding force to shore up the Italian defense of their African colonies, the formation fought on in Africa, under various appellations, from March 1941 until its surrender in May 1943. Both the Heer and Luftwaffe branches of the Wehrmacht wore uniforms specifically designed for the conditions in the more arid climate.
