Original German WWII Heer Army 1941 Dated Heavy Canvas Ration Grain Sack - 43" x 28"

Item Description

Original Item. Only One Available. Made from heavy white canvas, this is a German WWII Issue Army Ration Grain Sack, measuring 43"H x 28"W when flat. A steady supply of food was vital to any fighting force, and sacks were the preferred way of transporting grain, which has not changed much since WWII. One side of the sack has a stencil identifying is correct usage and date of manufacture:

H. Vpfl.

This is the German Abbreviation for Heeres Verpflegung, or "Army Rations". The other side has a large stenciled Wehrmachtadler (Armed forces eagle).

Condition is very good, especially considering the age, with the expected light age toning and stains. There is a repair on the bottom side of the sack, but otherwise it looks great.

A very interesting piece of German WWII militaria, ready to display!
