Original Items: Only One Group Available. This is an interesting group of seven German WWII and later commemorative portraits and prints, including a 1941-dated signed photograph of Paul Hausser, a portrait of Konstantin Hierl bearing what appears to be his surname signature, a limited-edition Josef “Sepp” Dietrich print signed by the artist, and four period-style portraits of unidentified German servicemen. 

The most significant piece is a large 16 x 20-inch display board that was once framed and carries a portrait photograph of Paul Hausser signed and dated 1941. A small printed sheet mounted beneath the photograph records the dates of his major Knight’s Cross decorations. Hausser received the Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross on August 8, 1941, the Oak Leaves on July 28, 1943, and the Swords on August 26, 1944. The photograph shows age-related curling and would benefit from professional reframing, but the surviving signature makes it a particularly desirable component of the group. 

The items include:

- 16 x 20” Board that was once framed with signed photograph of Paul Hausser signed in 1941. Has small printed sheet underneath with dates of his Knight’s Cross, Oak leaves, and swords. The photo is old and has some age curling. Needs to be reframed but a very rare signature.
-13 x 17 ⅛” Print of Josef “Sepp” Dietrich signed by author and numbered 209/500. Not signed by Dietrich. 
- 13 ¾ x 17 ¾” portrait of Konstantin Hierl with his last name signed at the bottom under the photo. We are not sure if this is an actual signature or if it’s part of the print. There is some staining. 
- 10 ¾ x 14 ¼” studio portrait of German soldier, signed by photographer in corner and dated 1942. Not named.
- 11 x 13 ¾” portrait of two German NCOs with breast eagles. In black and white drawing style, not framed and curling a bit. Newspaper on the back. 
- 12 x 15 ½” portrait of German soldier, enlisted man, in Waffenrock with breast eagle. In black and white drawing style, not framed and curling a bit. Not named.
- 12 x 15 ¾” portrait of German soldier with Overseas cap on, Heer. Breast eagle.  In black and white drawing style, not framed and curling a bit. Not named.

Condition varies across the group. The Hausser photograph shows curling and would benefit from reframing, the Hierl portrait has staining, and several of the unframed soldier portraits show curling and storage wear. The Sepp Dietrich print remains a numbered limited edition, while the Hausser photograph carries the most important autograph in the group.

The combination of the 1941-signed Paul Hausser portrait, possibly hand-signed Konstantin Hierl portrait, numbered Sepp Dietrich print, and four additional period German soldier portraits makes this a varied group of wartime and commemorative German military portrait material. Its strongest historical value lies in the signed Hausser photograph, while the Hierl inscription warrants closer physical examination to determine whether it is an original autograph or a reproduced signature.
