Original Item. Only One Available. This is a scarce original German WWII black leather double magazine pouch manufactured by E.B. Leuner GmbH of Bautzen for use with the Gewehr 43 and Karabiner 43 semi-automatic rifle. Original accessories associated with the G43 and K43 have become increasingly difficult to obtain, making a well preserved and clearly marked example such as this especially desirable to collectors.
The Gewehr 43, redesignated the Karabiner 43 in late 1944, was chambered for the standard 7.92×57mm Mauser cartridge and represented Germany's most successful wartime semi-automatic rifle. Developed from the earlier G41(W), it incorporated a more reliable short-stroke gas piston system influenced by the Soviet SVT-40 and was manufactured using simplified wartime production methods. The rifle served with frontline infantry units throughout the latter half of the war and was also widely employed as a designated marksman's weapon when fitted with the ZF4 telescopic sight.
Constructed of black leather, this double ammunition pouch features two separate compartments, each designed to carry two detachable G43/K43 magazines. The original leather retaining straps and fastening studs remain intact and in good condition, while the leather itself is free from any significant damage. The metal fittings exhibit honest oxidation and age consistent with wartime service and long-term storage.
The underside of the right flap bears the original manufacturer and date stamp:
bla
1944
This marking denotes 1944 manufacture by E.B.Leuner GmbH, Bautzen, best known for producing military equipment and metal goods, including helmet shells, during the Second World War.
The brown belt loops are in good shape with intact stitching. The pouch set is in great overall condition with just storage wear and an overall patina.
An increasingly difficult accessory to locate, this original G43 & K43 double magazine pouch is a fine example of late-war German field equipment. It would make an excellent addition to any collection centered on the Gewehr 43, German small arms, or Second World War militaria.
This is a particularly desirable surviving G43 and K43 accessory due to its original black leather construction, intact securing straps and belt loops, clearly visible “bla 1944” marking, and untouched appearance. It would display especially well alongside a Gewehr 43 or Karabiner 43 rifle, period magazines, German infantry equipment, or a broader collection of German WWII small arms accessories.
