Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice German WWII Era Film projector by the Ditmar Company.
This example is marked on a data plate on the back:
TYP. 2860
NR. 7447
MOTOR PILOT 100-250 V
MADE IN GERMANY - FABRIQUE EM ALLEMAGNE
PATENTS PENDING
The projector retains its original plug and appears to be in good condition. There is a switch on the back for 16 and 8, for 16mm and 8mm film. The projector measures roughly 6½ x 14 x 11½”. There is no actual film in the grouping, so we cannot test the set.
The set comes with some empty film reels and one film case which is marked on the front to the Deutsche Reichsbahn, the German national railway system created after the end of World War I from the regional railways of the individual states of the German Empire.
The projector comes in its original case which is in somewhat rough shape, with the carrying handle broken on one side. It measures approximately 13 1/4"W x 9"D x 17"H, and weighs about 22lbs all together. The case is actually marked as being made from Vulcanfibre, a plastic-like material used for Ersatz Pickelhaubes during World War I. The case comes with a very worn manual in German that could provide a lot of insight on how to get it working again.
A really interesting set, ready for further research and display.
