Original Items: Only one set available. Acquired as part of a large military collection acquired over decades. This is a great set of German WWII era Tinnies and other collectibles, acquired when the soldier was overseas in Germany. These were very popular items for USGIs to trade and collect, and this represents a typical "haul" one might have come back home with. There are 25 in this set, though some are broken and missing pieces, which have fallen off over the years. Most are from the 1930s pre-war era, when many events took place in NSDAP Germany to instill national unity. Please see photos for finer details.
We can definitely see some tinnies we easily recognize, such as a REICHSPARTEITAG 1937 Nuremberg Rally tinnie, a 1. MAI 1938 May Day tinnie, TAG DER ARBEIT 1935 Labor Day tinnie, and a Deutsches Jugenfest 1937 HJ festival tinnie. There are lot of other tinnies and other collectible items, many of which we have not seen before. This set is FULL of research potential, and is just great. Ready to display!
"Tinnies" (Veranstaltungsabzeichen - Event Badge) are small commemorative pins or medals, acquired when one attended a specific event held in Germany. They were often made of thin stamped metal, bakelite, or even pressed paper. Many of these were given out as part of the WHW (Winterhilfswerk - Winter Help Work) Organization, which often involved Germans traveling quite a bit to help out the war effort.
